5 Ways to Stay Healthy During the 2020 Holidays

The month between Thanksgiving and Christmas are weeks filled with cookies, eggnog and holiday cheer. 2020 is no different. It just looks a little different, just like everything these days.

With so much happening in the world right now, we here at Cyborg want to remind you of how important it is to take care of yourself during the holidays, so we've come up with a list of things that may make your winter season a little brighter.

1. Start with one new habit.

Write down 1 bad habit you'd like to change and focus on keeping that a priority. You'll find it's much easier to manage 1 thing in the short-term than many.

The truth is: those pesky New Year's resolutions never seem to stick because people dive headfirst into weight loss. They do too much too quickly, but if you scaffold your healthy habits by focusing on them one at a time, you'll be surprised at how much you can truly manage from day to day.

2. Log your journey!

Seeing your growth is a tremendous motivator, just like seeing your steps backward can help you get back on track!

Although anything will work (i.e. pen/paper, phone notes, spreadsheet, etc.), the Cyborg app does all the organizing for you with each and every workout you finish, so if you're looking for something quick and easy to keep track your success story throughout the year, download it here for free!

3. Save time & buy a wearable!

One word: Convenience.

Why waste valuable time writing down all of your workout specs when a piece of tech can do it for you? It's one of those things you don't think you need until you try it. Not only is it great for recording your day-to-day fitness accomplishments, it's a great too to keep you connected with friends and family, too.

The Apple Watch can be a bit pricy, but its features are hands-down fantastic. Looking for something cheaper? There are many Cyborg-supported options out there to choose from, so take a look!

4. Take advantage of space & time.

A white Christmas is great until you realize the cold is finally settling in.

As it gets colder, don't let cabin fever take hold. Set up a yoga mat in your home and dedicate a few minutes in the morning to stretching and 30 minutes in the evening to a body weight workout that gets your heart rate up.

If you can get to the gym, that's great! But this ensures that you have a dedicated space just in case.

5. Maintain motivation & personalize your playlists

Everything's better with music, right? Whether you're into anthem rock, rap, dubstep, or country, there's something for everyone, so why not use that to your advantage.

When the winter nights seem long, your in-workout music will help motivate you enough to burn those calories, so plug in and distance yourself from your responsibilities for a few minutes.

Sometimes something that simple is all we need.
