• Technical issues:

A quick overview of terms:

User account: this is you as a person, use your name and a personal photo.

Squad: this is a group, like a Facebook group. Use your business' name and logo.

Free user: someone who can use the app 100% for free with limited functionality

Cyborg PLUS: an upgrade for individual users that unlocks the full power of the app

Cyborg PRO: an upgrade for organizations that gives all of their members PLUS

Step 1:

Download the Cyborg app - available for iOS and Android at

Step 2:

Create your free user account - Your user account is for you as an individual, not for your athletic organization (we'll do that after). Here's a quick video of how to create an account:

Step 3:

Create your Squads - we recommend starting two Squads (1 public and 1 private), but you can start as few or as many as you want.

  1. Public Squad: this Squad is for lead generation because a public Squad can be joined by anyone. This is the Squad you will link to in social channels, like your Facebook. Think of this as an appetizer to your brand and content which will inspire users to become a virtual member. Name this Squad "Your Organization Name".

  2. Private: this Squad is for your paying members. Post daily workouts as a way for in-person clients to have a flexible option for your programming, or virtual clients to get their daily programming. When you start your PRO trial, this will be the group of clients that get Cyborg PLUS for free. Name this Squad "Your Organization Name PRO"

Step 4:

Start your PRO trial- Unlock the full functionality of the app for your paying members so they can watch your content and view other users' workouts when they join your Squad.

Start your free 14-day trial here:

Step 5:

Post content to welcome your members - make a welcome video and introduce your instructors to your virtual members. Here's a video of how to make a Squad post:

Step 6:

Announcing your Squad to your members - Send a short email to your members letting them know they can expect an invite to your new Cyborg group. Here's a template to make the process easier:

"Hi, all! We wanted to let you know that we started working with Cyborg to add more value and flexibility to your member experience!

What it is:

Cyborg is an app that allows us all to connect, even when we aren't in the same place. We'll be uploading videos regularly for you to "be" with us whether you're with us in person or not.

You can also track workouts, build posts, and encourage each other through the feed. You'll all be a part of our Squad, think of this like a Facebook group that's specifically designed for fitness and activity.

What to expect from here:

Cyborg will be sending an invite to your email. If you would like to be a part of our Squad, download the app using the link. Once you create an account, you'll be automatically upgraded to their PLUS service (as a part of our membership) and auto-added to our Squad. If you don't wish to participate, they won't continue to reach out to you.

You can learn more about Cyborg before you get your invite, just check out!"

Step 7:

Send Invites - send invites through your Public Squad to everyone in your CRM and (if they create an account) auto-adds them to that Squad: INVITE YOUR CONTACTS

Step 8:

Share your Squads to your existing social channels - This is a scalable way to bring members of your existing audiences to your Cyborg Squad so you can convert them into paying virtual members.

How this works:

  1. Share your Squad to social channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

  2. Users who open your unique link will be prompted to download Cyborg.

  3. Once they do, they will brought directly to your Squad page and asked to join.

Step 9:

Using content to increase conversion - show previews of your full-length content in your public Squad and encourage users to upgrade using Cyborg PRO and your CRM!

Step 10:

Start a competition - Competitions in Cyborg can either be data-driven (gamified) or subjective. Here are some examples of non-data-driven competitions:

• Best hiking selfie

• Cutest pet post

• Best route map drawing

If you'd like to host a gamified workout, you can use Cyborg virtually-optimized metrics and your Squad's leaderboard. Here are two videos that explain both:

Next steps:
